Positive results for 2011 for this lighting manufacturer, recording an increase of 10% in sales, up to 41 million euros. The firm also reported an increase in market share in different countries – exports account for 80% of total sales – and an expansion of its collections, with 15 new Foscarini models and 4 new Diesel models presented last year. Starting in 2011 Foscarini has also boosted its presence in the USA, appointing a CEO and creating a structure to concentrate on North America. This is a case of solid growth, year after year, based on constant investment in ideas (8% of sales goes into R+D), new solutions, new models and new technologies, in fertile collaboration with many of the most innovative young or already acclaimed designers from the international scene. Always focused on total quality, Foscarini recently obtained ISO 14001 certification, an important international standard that rewards the firm’s commitment to environmental protection and reduced impact. The new certification joins the already achieved UNI EN ISO 9001. Cultural commitment is another fundamental part of the corporate philosophy, taking concrete form in support for the Venice Art and Architecture Biennials, as official sponsor since 2008. The focus on research and creativity also extends to Inventario, a totally independent publishing project – directed by Beppe Finessi, promoted and supported by Foscarini – that relies on original critical contributions to shed light on the design, architecture and art scenes.
